Texas Beef Chili

beef chili4 to 5 lbs. of Beef Chuck
    Roast
chunked up
1 large whole chopped Sweet
    Onion

1 large Red Bell Pepper,
    chopped finely
4 cloves of fresh Garlic,
    minced
1 ½ cups of Beer
1 cup of Beef Broth
2 tablespoons Olive Oil for
    frying meat
2 teaspoons Cumin
¼ cup Chili Powder
1 tablespoon Paprika
2 teaspoons Dried Oregano
1/8 cup or less of Maple Syrup (optional)

Use a Dutch oven or crockpot to cook this yummy dish. If you are using a crockpot you will first need to brown the meat in a large frying pan.  After browning, add rest of the ingredients. If you are using a Dutch oven, bake in oven at 275° for 4 to 6 hours.  If you are going to use a crockpot, cook on high for 7 hours.
